International Convention Up North
by Sr. Member Ed Chertok
Polly and I have had the pleasure of attending several International Conventions. Our first in Houston, then Salt Lake City in 1996, Denver in 1999, also Montreal & Nashville, Tennessee. The 91st will be in Montreal--June 28-July 2. I urge every Kiwanian who can do so to attend:
1. Montreal is close enough for easy drive which eliminates the expense of round trip air fares.
2. Attending gives one a conception and understanding of what Kiwanis accomplishes worldwide.
3. There are all kinds of ideas on fundraising as well as new kinds of projects that one can bring back to their home community.
4. Socializing with other Kiwanians is a great experience.
5. If Kathy Calvin doesn't already have Kiwanis Convention Materials, she can get it for as many members who would like to look over the program.
6. I believe the club has some funds budgeted to help those who attend. I urge every member to attend. Montreal is a great city to visit.

Monday, February 27
Guest speaker will be Dick Metz, Old Boys Toys.

Tuesday, February 21
We will meet in the Busiel Community Room at One Mill Plaza. Aerial photographer William Hemmel will show some of his work. There will be a special Boards meeting.
