Guest Speaker
This writer introduced Chair David Stamps, Lakes Region Childrens' Services, to the club. He thanked the club for our $5000 donation last year to help subsidize the summer program. The program operates out of five different locations, providing daycare with USDA-approved meals and interaction with adults and other preschoolers. Charges are on a sliding scale based on income and age of child. Summer programs include trips to Clark's Trading Post, Storyland, Laconia Athletic Club, and Opechee Park. Exec. Dir. Julie Farina has been with the organization since November last and is looking forward to possibly moving into the proposed renovated Scott & Williams building. They would occupy 13,000 sq. ft. of space. Half their funding for their $1 million budget comes from parents and the balance from the state which will probably be cutting back it's support this year. For more information go to
lrchildcare.org.

Monday, March 15
Exec. Dir. Dianne Zawacki and Denise Davis, Teen Center, will speak.
