The Partners Speak
Membership Chair Joe Adrignola introduced representatives from some of the organizations we support. Randy Brough, Laconia Public Library, reports that they have raised $500,000 of the $800,000 needed for the planned renovations. He pointed out that our initial $50,000 donation helped encourage other groups to chip in. Asst. Supt. Marie Ross praised the club for our Reading Is FUNdamental programs in the schools and the importance, down the road, of a good reading foundation for students. Jackie Bonafide enumerated the various Community Health & Hospice Young Families programs that we support.

Guest Speaker
This writer introduced Exec. Dir. Greg Goddard, Gunstock Recreation Area, to the club. He presented a slide show of the construction of the new detachable Quad lift and the moving of the old lift to the Pistol slope last year. The $3.8 million project, which included area lighting, snow-making, and dam upgrades, is just Phase 1 of a $13 million improvement plan. This summer they will be adding a miniature golf course and horseback riding. For more information, go to
