Good News from Springfield
Pres. Warren Mitchell reports that we received an award for Public Relations and special recognition for the bulletin at the District Convention last weekend.

NISE Revealed
Past Pres. Joe Adrignola reviewed for the club how our NISE donations are used by St. Vincent de Paul. Their Childrens' Foundation provides education, school and health supplies, and trips for those who cannot otherwise afford them.

Let's Do Some Shots
Past Pres. Nancy Williams advises that Lakes Region General Hospital's THRIVE program can provide flu shots on site for any group of at least 20 at under $20 per vaccination.

Win a Classic!
Pres.-Elect Paul Cotton passed out the preliminary schedule for the motorcycle raffle roadshows. In an effort to get our income up, we will be going from 13 shows last year up to 18 this year. Click
here or the link at the bottom of each bulletin for the list. A sign-up sheet went around for our appearance at the Killington Classic, Killington, Vermont. Happy Dollars
Warren Mitchell had a buck for taking first place for his vintage car at an auto show; Roger Landry for Warren Mitchell being so excited about winning that he was able to charge him double at NAPA; Nancy Williams for the bills in her 50/50 winnings all going in the same direction; and Chet Cilley for "waumping"[sic] his son in golf in North Carolina.

Guest Speaker
Pres. Warren Mitchell introduced Exec. Dir. Elizabeth Beeson, the Circle Program, to the club. Started in 1993, the program is for at-risk girls, aged 9-12, who are given the opportunity to attend a 2-year program which includes a 12-day summer camp, regular get-togethers throughout the year, and graduate service projects. Up to 36 participants are accepted every year, mostly from the Laconia area but with attention to other municipalities in the area. Right now they are running a capital fund to build their own summer camp so that they may run more than one session. They have raised $1.3 million and have $150,000 to go to set up their facility on Spectacle Pond in Groton. We are invited (as with the Mayhew Project) to help them open their camp next year. The ongoing cost of the program runs around $3000 per girl per year. For more information go to
circleprogram.gov.
