Franklin Installation
Steve Loughlin reports that Bill Cummings of the Franklin Club has invited us to their installation dinner at La Meridiana Restaurant, 5p, October 2. Cost is $29-$44 depending on what you order from the menu.

Holiday Help
Pres. Warren Mitchell received a request from the Salvation Army for anyone who would like to sponsor a donation tree at their business or Adopt a Family, providing holiday gifts and dinners.

Here Comes the Gov.!
Pres. Warren Mitchell advises that we have been invited to Gov. Ron Forrest's visit to be held at Makris' Lobster House, Concord, Friday, October 5. Cost is $25.

Installation 2005
The installation dinner will be Monday, September 27th, at Pheasant Ridge Country Club. Sr. Member Roger Ballantyne will be the Master of Ceremonies. A special presentation is going to be made which the long-time members will enjoy. Pres.-Elect Paul Cotton passed around a sign-up sheet for the event--if you are not on the list but wish to attend should call him sooner than later. Anticipated cost is $15 per person.

Pres.-Elect Paul Cotton passed around a sign-up sheet for our next roadshow at the Keene Swap Meet, Cheshire County Fairgrounds, Sunday, September 26. Set-up, 8a: Paul Cotton; 10a-4p: Paul Cotton, Phil Bonafide, Michael Bastraw, and, possibly, Chet Cilley.

Food Shack
Past Pres. Jim Fortier reports that he, Chet Cilley, and Kathy Calvin helped at the Key Club's food shack Friday last. The new Key Club Advisor is Laura Brousso and they have had their first meeting.

Gosh Wow
Sr. Member Roger Webster advises that he took the tour at Lakes Region General Hospital last week of the new CT machine. He was impressed.

Happy Dollars
Jim Fortier paid Nancy Williams fine for being in the paper without her K but with plenty of flamingos; Chet Cilley had $2 for son Jeff's wife being pregnant; Russ Beane for winning the 50/50; Warren Mitchell for taking 2nd place at a car show in Rye; Joe Collie for becoming Director of Operations at WASR on October 4; and Nancy Williams for spending time with son Andrew and his new wife Michelle and her family and something about a hurricane...

Guest Speaker
Past Pres. Nancy Williams introduced V.P. Lisa M. Garcia, Marketing Officer, Meredith Village Savings Bank. She explained that a new check handling program called Check 21 will be instituted on October 28 to help expedite the processing of 40 billion checks that float around the country every year and cut down on the $3 billion worth of check fraud (2001). Next month the bank will have information available on this program on their website at
mvsb.com.
