Win a Classic!
Chair Paul Cotton presented an autographed Iron Eddie Racing pin-up poster he picked up at the WHEB Motorcycle Mania. He will raffle it off when we have a larger attendance. He also gave a personalized copy of the poster to Warren Mitchell. Next up is the Lakes Region Boatshow, Winnipesaukee Expo Center, Laconia, March 7-9. Roger Landry and Warren Mitchell will set-up Friday at 10a. Friday, 12n-4p: Bob Turner, Michael Bastraw, _________; 4p-8p: Warren Mitchell, Roger Landry, _________. Saturday, 9a-2p: Bob Turner, Kathy and Patty Jeanne Calvin, _________; 2p-7p: Don and Sue Nelson, _________, _________. Sunday, 10a-1p: Dianne Roberts, Phil Bonafide, _________; 1p-4p: Nancy Williams, Warren Mitchell, Roger and Pam Landry. As you can see, there are still openings to be filled. This show is about as easy as it gets--just down the road for most of us. Call Paul Cotton at 524-2883 to sign up. Let Steve Loughlin know if you need a new name badge. These make us look more official at the roadshows and also help getting into same. Paul Cotton also suggested that the Boards consider whether raffle tickets should be sold to members or their immediate families. He also pointed out that he doesn't think it's a good idea to let people sit on the Harley to avoid possible damage to the bike.

Reading Is FUNdamental
Chair Joe Adrignola passed around the sign-up sheet for our next to appearances. On board for Wednesday, March 5, 9:30a, Woodland Heights Elementary School are Joe Adrignola, Kathy Calvin, Don Nelson, Joe Collie, Nancy Williams, Debbie Grant, and Dianne Roberts. For Friday, March 7, 2:00p, Pleasant Street School are Joe Adrignola, Kathy Calvin, Michael Bastraw, Don and Sue Nelson, and Joe Collie. We can always use more help, so just show up and join in the fun.

Nominations
Acting Pres. Joe Collie reminded everyone that the Boards need to fill the posts vacated by Nate Robertson, Dan Fisher, and Dick Breton; to say, Vice-President, Director, and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer. After nominations, the first two positions will be voted on by the membership. Paul Cotton indicated that he would be willing to accept a Boards position if offered. Any other member interested in throwing their hat into the ring should contact a Boards member.

Hey Nancy,
It's been a while since I have written to you. I am sorry about that. I have been plugging away. I am currently in talks with a cable company in Texas. While doing some research on the area and company I decided to look up the Kiwanis Clubs in the area, there are 4 of them only one had a website so I emailed them to find out more about the area and the club here is the response I got from them:

Hi John, You have stumbled upon the most unusual club in Tyler -- perhaps the world. We average in age at 82 years. We have a morning meeting at 10 AM. We have good speakers but other than that we don't do much. We visit the hospitals to care for our members since we are there quite often. We have no projects and we donate most of our charity. We have 58 members at this time. We claim a Past International President, a State Representative and a number of infamous liars. There is no meal at our meeting. We have cookies and coffee when the committee remembers to get the cookies. The coffee is provided by the church where we meet. We would love to have you visit us any time to check us out. We have pretty good attendance. Many show up around 9:30 to tell their latest lies. The meeting is called to order at 10:00. Thanks for your inquiry.

I thought that was just the funniest email I had read in a long time. I'll let you know how it goes. John
