V.P. Warren Mitchell thanked everyone who worked the Safety Day, Saturday last, at City Hall: Kathy Calvin, Chet Cilley, Michael Bastraw, Steve Loughlin, Dianne Roberts, Warren Mitchell, Phil Bonafide, Roger Webster, Paul Normandin, Larry Murphy, and Warren and Janet Mitchell. Chair Chet Cilley reports that 8-year-old David Russ of Laconia won the raffle bicycle.

Chair Joe Adrignola advises that we have three Reading Is FUNdamental appearances coming up: Elm Street School, Wednesday, May 21, 10a-11a; Woodland Heights School, Wednesday, May 21, 9:45a-11:00a; Pleasant Street School, Wednesday, May 28, 2a-3p. These are good opportunities for a little hands-on community service. Sign-up soon.

Bylaws
Laws and Regulations Chair Phil Bonafide reports that he has closed changes to our policies and procedures and bylaws so they may be incorporated into documents that will be reviewed at a regular club meeting.

Sports Banquet
The Sixth Annual Sports Banquet to raise money for area youth sports will be held at Goodfella's Restaurant, Friday, May 16, 5:30p. The evening will feature a buffet dinner and auction. Cost is $10 per person with $5 being donated to the charity. Anyone interested in attending or donating to the auction should call Candy Pederzani, 528-5449 or Pat Kogut, 366-2600.

This writer introduced James Cameron, Uechiryu Karate Do, to the club. Besides holding Okinawan Black Belts, he is a licensed clinical mental health counselor. His program at his locations in Wolfeboro and at the Laconia Athletic Club not only trains students in martial arts but also helps them build self-esteem and learn self-discipline, leadership, and other real world skills. Students range in age from five to adults and attend classes two times a week. For more information, go to
