Scholarships Awarded
Steve Loughlin reports that our $2500 annual donations through Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation were awarded to five Key Club members. We have already received thank-you letters from Lauren Fish, who will be going to the University of Connecticut and Josh Carroll.

July 4, 2001
Chair Chet Cilley advises that 19 vendors have signed up for the Fourth of July celebration at Opechee Park. Laconia Rotary has donated $500 towards the event.

A Bridge Twice Too Far
Sr. Member Dick Breton presented Warren Mitchell a picture of a bridge that he went across twice paying tolls each way.

No Laughing Matter
Sr. Member Roger Webster presented the Pillsbury Doughboy's obituary to the club. He was bread in old Kentucky but he was just a crumb up here.

Sr. Member Roger Webster relates that the Doughboy used to work in a bakery as a pilot. He'd take the bread from one corner and pile it in the other. But the dough was no good so he went on the loaf.

Pres. Don Nelson opened discussion on the Dental Resource Center's request for a donation to purchase one of four new workstations for the facility. These are needed to accommodate the 4th year students who will be coming in from Tufts University. This was debated in relation to the Elementary School Dental Program's future.

Board Matters
The Board accepted Immediate Past Pres. Marty Hirschberg's resignation with regrets; dental bills were paid to the respective dentists; $800 was voted to repay Pres. Don Nelson for his subsidy of the motorcycle trailer; $150 went to PACT's Chemical-Free graduation party; $21,000 was earmarked for the purchase of our next motorcycle to be raffled.
