Gilford Old Home Day
Roger Landry has collected
$350 from members and others to help defray the Old Home Day
expenses. With any luck we will not pay out for supplies. The
sign-up sheet is out there for the August event.
Interclubs
Warren Mitchell reports
that is was so cold coming back from the interclub to Berlin
that Sr. member Roger Ballantyne couldn't talk. Joining them
on the trip were Dick Breton and Paul Cotton. The next interclub
will be to the York club, York Harbor Inn, Thursday, August 15.
Gilford Old Home Day
Roger Landry still
could use some names on the sign-up sheet for the August event
and needs members to turn in the money for their pledges.
Amending the Bylaws
Pres. Phil Bonafide
has had the proposed bylaw changes sent to International for
review before we vote on the them.
Where's My Supplement?
Editor Chet Cilley
and this writer are working everyday on our commemorative addition
to The Citizen. Steve Loughlin, Phil Bonafide, and Kathy
Calvin have agreed to do the proofing.

The Suggestion Box
Sr. Member Ed Chertok
recommends that we consider giving two votes on whether to do
the motorcycle raffle again to anyone who brings a nonmember
to the roadshows. He would also like to see fines raised to bring
them more in line with the 21st Century.

Happy Dollars
$5 came from the winners
of the 50/50 towards Gilford Old Home Day; Chet Cilley came up
with a buck each for the July 4th celebration at Opechee was
a success, his granddaughter's marriage, so going to Bosnia for
a year, and becoming a grandfather for the eighth time; Roger
Webster for Jim Fortier fixing his car; and Larry Murphy for
shooting 51 (9 holes).

District Convention
Sec.'y Kathy Calvin
reports that it looks like we will be sending no delegates to
the District Convention, Danvers, Mass., August 22-25.
Guest Speaker
This writer introduced
publisher/investigative reporter Wayne Green to the club. Green's
teenage interest in amateur radio led to his being and electronics
technician on a submarine during WWII, and into publishing an
amateur radio magazine, which he is still doing, over 40 years
later. He continues to publish books and magazines which have
helped turn technologies such as cell phones, personal computers,
and compact disks into huge new industries. His most recent publication
is New Hampshire To Do magazine whose purpose is to help
double our $9.4 billion state tourism industry by keeping readers
informed about the variety of recreational options available.
To date the 23,000 copies that go out each month are the highest
initial circulation in N.H. His publishing company has no official
headquarters and encourages unsolicited submissions of material.
