Congrats to Us
Pres. Phil Bonafide noted that, as reported in the most recent Yankiwanian, that we received an Honorary Mention for The Kiwanis Kronikle. Thanx to all who helped make this possible, notably photographers Steve Loughlin and Randy Eifert.

Win a Classic?
Next week we will be voting on whether to do another motorcycle raffle, 2/3 of those present required for passage. Pres. Phil Bonafide would like all members to be aware of what an affirmative vote means. Last year we conducted 13 roadshows over 30 days with 279 shift openings to be filled but weren't always. (For those who like statistics: if every member covered 8 shifts over the course of the fundraiser, no one would have to do more than 8.) So the vote Monday next isn't so much whether you think its a good idea for the club to do the raffle, but more that you are willing to do your fair share with shift coverage.

Gilford Old Home Day
Pres. Phil Bonafide reports that the sign-up sheet is still out there for the August event. And we could use some more names.

Interclub
Warren Mitchell advises that the next interclub will be to the York club, York Harbor Inn, Thursday, August 15. The crew will leave from A.G. Edwards at 4:30p to make the 7:00p meeting. We will need a count by next week.

Fines
Sgt.-at-Arms Nancy Parrott collected money from Dianne Roberts and this writer for not signing Peggy Arend's apron; pinless were Roger Ballantyne, Joe Collie, Larry Murphy, Joe Andriolo, and Nancy Parrott; Chet Cilley was tardy.

Lawrence Kiwanis
Joseph Andriolo, from the Greater Lawrence Kiwanis Club, Mass. discussed some of the fundraisers his club participates in including: a card raffle, golf tournament, and dinner with a silent auction. Their 60-member club donates most of their funds to schools and summer programs.

Guest Speaker
Sr. Member Dick Breton introduced Chris Smith, Wealth Management Consultant, A.G. Edwards Trust Company, to the club. His job is to help individuals pass on their legacy to their heirs with the smallest tax consequences. He provided several examples where he has helped his clients address their hopes, fears, and dreams in a secure manner. Vehicles include wills, living trusts, gifting, and life insurance.
