Sec.'y Kathy Calvin related "how much fun it was" attending the New England District Convention last weekend. We received an award for sponsoring two students in the HOBY program (the biggest deal was our Secretary having her picture taken with Hugh O'Brien himself) and for the bulletin. Thanx to Charlie St. Clair for donating a sweatshirt for the silent auction. Ed Murphy became Governor-Elect. Also in attendance were Pres. Don Nelson and Immediate Past Lt. Gov. Chet Cilley.Interclub
Warren Mitchell reported on the Berlin trip last week. A little rain fell on the way up but it was a beautiful night. Berlin club, jokesters that they are, put oil spills around all the Laconia bikes. We got them back good, however, when Al Dolloff beat the odds and pulled the ace of hearts and won the 50/50 jackpot for nice little sum of $340. The pot had been building for many months with Berlin money!Gilford Old Home Day
