Joe Collie contributed a dollar in anticipation of being a father by next week's meeting. Joe Adrignola gave a dollar for winning the 50-50. Warren Mitchell contributed a buck in celebration of his winning third place in this weekend's Classic Car show. Phil Bonafide to celebrate Ken Georgevits leaving his post as Lt. Governor. Jim Fortier celebrated his wife's 40th wedding anniversary. Lt. Governor Ken contributed two happy dollars. The first in honor of his son winning the New England Summer Ski Jump Championship and secondly, to thank the Laconia Kiwanis Club for the kindness extended to him over the year and the kindness he anticipates being extended to incoming Lt. Governor Ruth Drake-Benedict.

Special Awards
Lt. Gov. Ken Georgevits presented the following awards to the club:
two patches for the club sponsoring two students to the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Award. Jim Fortier, HOBY Coordinator, accepted the award. The club also received the New England District Club Bulletin Award and Public Relations Award in recognition for its Internet newsletter. Steve Loughlin accepted the award on behalf of Bulletin Editor Mike Bastraw noting that Mike "does 99% of the work."

Roger Landry reported there is substantial amount of bottled water left over from Gilford Old Home Day. He will bring in the water next week for a "sidewalk sale."Special Guests
President Phil introduced Cary Gladstone, Marketing Outreach Coordinator of Micro Credit-NH. Cary reported the purpose of MicroCredit-NH is to help New Hampshire's smallest businesses grow by providing business training, loans, networking opportunities and other support. MicroCredit-NH's target market is the state's self-employed or microbusiness owners. A "microbusiness" is defined as a business with five employees or less (including the owner), and less than $500,000 in annual gross sales. Loans are made in amounts of $500 to $10,000. No collateral or credit reports are necessary. More information on the Micro Credit program is available on the Internet at www.microcreditnh.org.
