Boardwalk Fund Raising Plans:
Pres. Mike reported on a Finance Committee meeting that was held at NAPA attended by him, Larry Murphy, Roger Landry, and Adam Cote. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss what fund raising project the Club would do on the boardwalk during Bike Week.

Tentative plans are to raffle a $1,000 gift certificate to the Meredith Harley Davidson and, as a second place prize, a gift basket on an item yet to be decided. In addition to the gift certificate raffle, a daily 50/50 raffle is also being considered.

Mike then solicited comments from the membership regarding their ideas.

News on two of our Snowbirds:
Roger Webster reported that Howard Bacon had a minor stoke while being in Florida. He is scheduled to come back home in late April.

Larry Murphy reported he spoke with Jim Fortier who recently had a CAT scan performed and results show there have been no negative changes in his health. Jim is very happy.

50 50:
$16 to Joe Adrignola

Believe it or Not: This is the first time in 2011 that Joe Adrignola has won the 50 50.

Happy Dollars:

• $1 from Ed Merski because he noticed that Larry Murphy’s sister-in-law visited Larry last week AND because, as of Wednesday at 4 pm (March 30th), Ed will be gainfully unemployed once again.
• $1 from Jack Batchelder because the Rich Velasquez Youth Sports Equipment Foundation had another successful trade card show. For more details, “click” here.
• $1 from Joe Adrignola because he had the opportunity to speak with Jim Fortier and Jim is “doing great!”
• $1 from Roger Webster who’s “happy to be back.”

Guest Speaker:

Dick Breton introduced Ernie Bolduc (a/k/a Tinsel the Elf) from Laconia’s Christmas Village.

Ernie gave a presentation on the history of Christmas Village, which initially opened in 1975. Ernie estimated that each year the project starts in November and then takes approximately 4,000 to 5,000 man-hours to build the village. For 2011, Christmas Village will be held on December 1, 2, 3, and 4.

More details on Christmas Village are available by “clicking” here.
