Please check your schedules and please let Paul Cotton know if you're available. Call him at 524-2883 or e-mail him at paulcotton@metrocast.net Thanks in advance!

PORTSMOUTH BOAT SHOW
Please remember to check your schedules for May 31-June 3. We'll be selling tickets at the big 4-day boat show in Portsmouth at the Pease Tradeport. We could use all the help we can get on this last big show before Bike Week. Paul Cotton will be circulating a sign up sheet again next week at the meeting on Monday, April 16th. Thanks in advance for helping out.

MEREDITH HARLEY
We have the chance to sell tickets to the bike and display it at the Open House at Meredith Harley Davidson coming up on Saturday, May 5th. Stay tuned...

DUES NOTICE
Please be advised that due to a change in member dues from Kiwanis International, all members will be billed $8 when they receive their monthly bills on May 7th to make up the difference. Thanks! Any questions, please see Kathy Calvin.

AND THE NOMINEES ARE..
President Joe put the club on notice that the annual meeting will be held on Monday, May 7th. A nominating committee (Adrignola, Collie, Nelson, Bonafide, and Mitchell) will meet next week before the regular meeting and nominees will be taken from the floor on April 30th with votes being cast on May 7th. So far, we have:

Dianne Roberts, President 2007-2008
Jeff Stone, President Elect 2007-2008
Joe Adrignola, Treasurer
There are 4 board members who have terms expiring in September. We are looking for nominees to replace them. If interested, or if you want to nominate someone, please let the members of the nominating committee know.

TWO MINUTES FOR ROUGHING...

Mike Marsh, Joe Collie, Kathy Calvin, and Laura Brusseau each brought family and friends to the Monarchs game last Friday night. The Monarchs won 3-1! The group had to pick up their tickets at the will call window because the Monarchs front office mailed the tickets to the Rotary Club instead of to the Kiwanis Club. Oops! President Joe reports his 5 month daughter slept through the night after the hockey game! He and his wife are already looking forward to the next game!

READING IS FUNDAMENTAL
Kathy Calvin reports that there is a RIF reading and distribution on Wednesday, April 18th at Elm Street School in Laconia from 1:45-2:45. On board are Joe Adrignola, Kathy Calvin, Warren Mitchell, Terry Fortson from the superintendent office and Randy Brough from Laconia Public Library. The theme for the day is non fiction. Anyone interested in helping out, just show up at Elm Street next week. Thanks!

WHAT'S YOUR NAME?
Steve Loughlin reports that the name tags are printed and are just waiting lamination. Those without will not be fined in the interim.

GUEST SPEAKER:
Tom Blonski, President and CEO of New Hampshire Catholic Charities (NHCC) spoke to the club about his organization. NHCC started in 1945 with 3 employees. It now consists of more than 850 employees and serves more than 60,000 people in the state of New Hampshire. It is the 2nd largest service organization in New Hampshire, second only to the state Department of Health and Human Services. NHCC has 10 district offices, including one in Laconia on Gilford Ave and handles 8 nursing homes, 6 of which it owns, including Laconia's St. Francis Home on Court Street. It also runs the NH Food Bank in Manchester, which provides food to all food pantries in the state. NHCC serves people of all faiths and all socioeconomic backgrounds. The biggest challenge facing the agency now is the aging baby boomer population and the growing number of non profits that are after the same small pie. Currently, there are more than 7,000 non profits in New Hampshire. Blonski said that, in an effort to help NHCC survive as a 21st Century Charity, he is trying to team with non profits around the state and merge services where ever possible.
