President Dianne Roberts said that the club has a table at the Private Collections show coming up on May 2nd at the Expo Center. The event has a 60s theme and is a fundraiser for the Belknap Mill. If anyone is interested in attending, please let Dianne know. She has tickets. Also…the club has tickets to the Salvation Army Luncheon coming up on Thursday, May 15th at noon. This will also be at the Expo Center. Again, please let Dianne know if you plan on attending. So far, Joe Collie, Joe Adrignola, and Kathy Calvin are on the list.
Bike Rodeo
President Dianne Roberts indicated that Past Lt. Gov. Chet Cilley has asked for a leave of absence and will be returning just before the 4th of July. This means he will be missing the Bike Rodeo. Chet is the chair of this event and we need someone to fill in for him. Jim Fortier, Roger Landry, and Kathy Calvin offered assistance. The event has been confirmed for Saturday, May 10th and will take place at Opechee Park, in the parking lot of the Opechee Park Clubhouse. Kathy Calvin said we do have helmets and the flier will be going to the schools the week after next. Steve Loughlin will be helping to adjust last year's flier on the computer template. Any other assistance any other member can lend would be greatly appreciated and please plan on being at the Bike Rodeo that day, Saturday, May 10th. Thanks! No Luck So Far…
Warren Mitchell read the names of the daily winners so far in the Lakes Region Child Care Services Calendar fundraiser. Not only did Paul Cotton NOT win the Red Sox tickets, no Kiwanian has won anything so far. Kathy Calvin did sell two of the winning tickets thus far, however. Stay Tuned…
And now the Amazing Warren reads without looking at the paper.

Kathy Calvin reports that Comedy Night was well-attended last Friday night and everyone had fun despite the somber mood at the high school after a student died in a fatal car crash. The comedians were professional and tailored their acts to the situation and Kathy says – quote – it was a great success and a good time was had by all.vote was taken and the trip was cut. The ATV raffle was accepted
50/50:
Dianne Roberts won $21.
With luck like that, she may as well just be President next year, too!

Happy Dollars:
Dianne Roberts gave 1 for winning the other 20.Fines:
Joe Collie was late and without a nametag. Never a good combination.
Paul Cotton paid the late fine of 25 cents. Joe paid a buck for the nametag.
Guest Speaker:
Steve Loughlin introduced Lou Guevin. Lou spoke about his trip to Sturgis and showed a power point presentation with great pictures taken at some of the country's most famous spots. Some of the highlights from his presentation:
*** Riding to Sturgis on motorcycle; Lou stopped in Rochester, NY, Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis, Sioux Falls, and finally Spearfish.
*** He was on the I-70 bridge in Minneapolis the day it collapsed!
*** Total trip to Sturgis: 2,120.
*** Total round trip: 5,008 miles
*** Stopped at Niagara Falls for a half day on the way
*** Saw Mount Rushmore
*** Saw the beginning of the mountain carving of Crazy Horse
*** Navigated the famous Iron Mountain Road
*** Walked around the base of Devil's Tower with his wife: 1.3 miles
*** Great pictures were shown of Needle Eye Formation and Badlands National Park.
This year, Lou is headed to Italy, but is leaning toward another motorcycle adventure next year. He shared with the club that his 25 minute presentation, during which we saw about 300 photos, was pared down from a much longer show, featuring nearly 1,000 pictures from the excursion. In his "real life" Lou heads up the Commercial Banking Department at Laconia Savings Bank. A relatively new biker, he obtained his motorcycle license when he was in his mid 50's and made the trip last year on his first bike, which he still rides and owns. To quote Don Nelson" What is this? Wild Hogs 2?"
