News From The President:
Home Run Derby: We are still looking for sponsors for Home Run Derby, which will be held at the Major League Ball field at Opechee Park on June 2nd. Any Sponsors who sign up by May 1st should be able to get their names in the printed program. Members are encouraged to solicit sponsors for an ad. A sponsorship form can be downloaded by “clicking” here.

Bike Rodeo: Help is needed for this year’s Bike Rodeo, which will be held at the parking lot next to the former Opechee Park Clubhouse on May 18th.


News From The Members:
Dick Breton reported receiving a note from Claire Sassevile, wife of former Laconia Kiwanis Club President (1979-1980), Leo Sassevile. Claire reported that Leo is back in a nursing home in Peoria, Arizona. However, whenever he is able to, Leo attends Kiwanis meetings at the Agua Fria Club, which is located in Sun City, Arizona.

Leo can be reached at his health care facility known as Arizona Buttes. His address at that facility is: 23194 N 106th Ave., Peoria, Arizona 85383

Mike Marsh reported on the availability raffle ticket calendars for Gilford youth Baseball with cash as the prize. Each calendar costs 10 dollars. There is a raffle every day during the month of May. If you are interested please see Mike.

Joe Adrignola reported that a Kiwanis KARES (Kids And Reading Equals Success) is scheduled for Tuesday April 30th at the Elm Street School at 9:30 am

Jack Landow was inducted into the Club by Past President Mike Marsh. Jack, who was sponsored by Dick Breton, is a retired state of New Hampshire employee who resides in Gilford with his wife, Charlotte.

For every Ford that is driven and survey completed will result in a $20 contribution to the school with a maximum contribution of $6,000.
