Deal...or No Deal?
Madaline Decato has decided to take the cash option instead of the motorcycle. A check will be presented to her by Paul Cotton this week. The Decato Family thought they had a buyer for the motorcycle, but it never panned out. A good sport all around, we appreciate her support of the club and we are very glad she won the raffle. She’ll enjoy her summer with the cash for sure!

Only The Lonely...
If you show up at our meeting next week, you will be lonely. We do not have one because of the Fourth of July holiday. We will meet again on Monday, July 10th. There will be a board meeting and NISE money will be collected.

Happy Birthday America!
We will be well represented at the Laconia Fourth of July parade and celebration at Opechee Park on Saturday, July 1st. The trailer will be in the parade and many members of the club will be on hand, too. Jim Fortier and Chet Cilley are also part of the committee that has been involved in the planning of the concert and fireworks that night. The WLNH NH Idol finalists will be on stage providing the entertainment and then the fireworks display wraps up the daylong event.

Campaign 2006
A motion was made and seconded that the secretary cast one vote to finalize the roster of officers and directors for the 2006-2007 Kiwanis year, which will begin on October 1, 2006. Kathy Calvin cast the vote “for” and the final roster is as follows:
President 2006-2007 Joe Collie
1st VP 2006-2007 Dianne Roberts
2nd VP 2006-2007 Jeff Stone
Treasurer Joe Adrignola
Secretary Kathy Calvin
Board of Directors with a term ending September 30, 2007
Peter Karagianis
Nancy Williams-Hunt
Jim Fortier
Warren Mitchell
Board of Directors with a term ending September 30, 2008
Don Nelson
Dianne Zawacki
Ed Merski
Phil Bonafide
Immediate Past President Paul Cotton
Probably around August 1st, we’ll start to look at committees for the next year and get the installation planning going. Anyone interested in helping to plan the installation, please see President Joe Collie.

Space Shot Update
Steve Loughlin informs the club that Roger Ballantyne’s surgery went well. So well, in fact, that Roger was able to skip the Concord rehab stint and was, to the best of our knowledge, recovering at home as of Monday night. Still a long road ahead, but this hurdle is behind him. Our thoughts continue to be with Roger. He’s accepting and responding to e-mails at mailto:ballantyne@metrocast.net . Ask him about his “dream wedding…”

Hey Kiwanis...THANKS!
We received 2 thank you notes this week. One from Community Health and Hospice for participating in their recent golf tournament. The event was held June 5th and raised more than $23,000 for that organization. Also Bridget Cass, Laconia High Class of 2006, sent us a thank you for being selected as a scholarship recipient. She will be attending Holy Cross and has yet to declare a major.

Please join us...
The Faith, Hope, and Love Foundation has sent us a package soliciting club members to be on their newly formed Board of Directors. If anyone is interested, please see President Joe Collie for the information.

Extra...Extra Read All About It!
The Club was well represented in the local papers this week. Joe Adrignola and Kathy Calvin were pictured in the Sun, making a check presentation to Randy Brough at the Laconia Public Library. The Club has sponsored the Library’s summer reading program. Also, there were separate articles in The Sun and The Citizen featuring the winner of our bike raffle, Madaline Decato. Also, Peter K was honored in the Citizen as he hit a special milestone birthday.

Happy Dollars
Dianne Roberts gave 1 for winning the other 17. Also Roger Landry gave $5 for his son landing a big time engineering gig in Boston. John Stow gave $1 for his family arriving safely in Florida, and another $1 for having the house to himself for the next 15 days. Kathy Calvin gave $1 for her daughter being off a Girl Scout Camp for the next 13 days. Warren Mitchell gave $1 for the rain holding off at the car show he was in over the weekend and he gave another $1 for his car winning first place at said show. Dianne Zawacki also gave $1 for Altrusa providing her a scholarship towards her MBA. Nice job, Dianne! Total number of Happy Dollars collected this week: $12.00. That helps!
