Hey Kiwanis...THANKS!
We received a thank you note from Lakes Region Child Care Center for our pledge payment last week of $15,000. Executive Director Julie Farina says with that payment, we have now completed our $45,000 obligation. A photo op is planned upon Julie's return with President Joe Collie. She is away on vacation this week. Stay Tuned...

On the mend...but doing OK.
Both Paul Cotton and Lori Dickson are reported to be doing well after their recent medical procedures. Paul reports through e-mail that the kidney stone has been --quote--blasted and flushed out-end quote, and Lori has been seen around town by a couple club members and seems to be doing well, too. Both should be back with us sometime in the next 8 weeks or so.

Fundraiser Discussion
As promised, we had a general discussion among the general membership in regards to the motorcycle raffle and whether or not we should do one next year. The vote on whether to do a bike in 2008 was split almost right down the middle. A fund raising committee has been formed to discuss the bike raffle and any other possible fund raisers we could do in it's place; either as soon as next year or in years to come. The committee (Roberts, Adrignola, Chertok, and Zawacki) will report back by the September board meeting with suggestions. It was decided that if we do go forward with a motorcycle raffle, it must be approached on a multi-tiered level. Level 1: administration and booking/scheduling of shows; Level 2: staffing and selling tickets at shows; Level 3: transporting the bike to and from scheduled appearances. It can't fall on one or two people as it has in the past and must be approached like a "3 headed monster." The committee will report back with suggestions.roved as presented to the general
