How Do You Do?
The club welcomed Lori Dickson back with a round of "How Do You Do?"

What's Your Name?

Steve Loughlin presented nametags to Dennis Denoncourt and Brian Winslow. He also thanked Nancy Williams-Hunt for her laminating the tags for us. Steve was pleased to advise the club that Nancy plans on attending the Installation on October 1st.

Hey Kiwanis…THANKS!
We received two thank you notes this week. The first from the folks at Multicultural Market Day. The event is scheduled for this coming weekend, Saturday, September 8th. They say thanks for our donation to sponsor the petting zoo for kids that day. The second thank you came from last week's speaker, Jeff DeFrancesco with The Citizen. He said thanks for the opportunity to speak to the club and looks forward to anything we may be able to do together in the future.

Mini-Bike Rodeo September 15th
The Boys and Girls Club will have their annual Kids Day Celebration on Saturday, September 15th and Kiwanis will be participating with a mini version of our Bike Rodeo. We will be on hand distributing helmets to kids that want them in exchange for donations. The event runs from 8am-2pm and so far, Joe Collie and Dick Metz have signed on. Anyone else that is available, your help would be appreciated. A sign up sheet will be circulated at next week's meeting. We probably only need 3 or 4 more people.

8am-10am:
ppJoe Collie .and ______________
10-noon:
.......Dick Metz and _____________
Noon-2pm:

Aside from our participation, there will be a yard sale, DJ, bounce house for the kids, and a dunk tank. Should be fun!

The Installation of Dianne Roberts...
President-Elect Dianne Roberts will become President Dianne Roberts on Monday, October 1st. The Installation will be held in the big room at Pheasant Ridge. Spouses and guests are encouraged to attend. Cost will be $20 as usual and a menu is being worked out. More details to follow. Stay Tuned... By the way, we still need a second Vice President to serve after Jeff Stone in 2009-2010. Any takers?

Are you ready for some football?
Hats off to Larry Murphy, Kathy Calvin, and Jim Fortier for their work in the snack shack during the Laconia High School football game last Friday night. After falling behind early, Laconia came roaring back for a 49-19 win. Kathy said she enjoyed using the popcorn machine Dick Metz donated to the Key Club. She said it was –quote—slick.

To Bike or Not To Bike…
The club voted against doing a motorcycle raffle next year. President Elect Dianne Roberts will appoint a fundraising committee that comes up with alternatives to the raffle. Several alternatives were discussed, including an ATV raffle and a classic car show. Stay tuned. One thing for certain: no motorcycle raffle next year.
