Tilly VIII: The Empire Stinks Back...
Now playing at a greenhouse near you: Tilly VIII! Late last week, Dr. Lou Riciardello let Kathy Calvin know that another corpse flower was in bloom at his Gilford residence. Club members were invited to come and see. Steve Loughlin took these photos of the latest Tilly:

Leadership Training...
President Dianne let the club know of the next Kiwanis Leadership Training Session. It is scheduled as part of the district convention in North Conway and a good thing to do if you are on the board or one of the club's officers. This session will be held in North Conway on November 16, 17, and 18. The leadership training session is on Sunday, November 18th and should you be interested in attending, please let Dianne know. She has all the paperwork. The club will reimburse your expenses.

Welcome Aboard...
Denise Dow will be joining as a club member next week. Denise has been to the the last couple of meetings and her membership has been approved by the board. She will officially be sworn into Laconia Kiwanis next week.

Reading is FUNdamental
Joe Adrignola advises there are two RIF sessions scheduled for later this month. The first is at Elm Street School on Wednesday, the 24th. Kathy Calvin, Joe Adrignola, Joe Collie, and Larry Murphy will be on hand. The second RIF distribution is scheduled for 2 days later, Friday, October 26th at Woodland Heights from 9:40am-11:15. On the schedule so far: Don and Sue Nelson, Kathy Calvin, Dick Metz, Joe Adrignola, and Larry Murphy. Please check your schedule and join in the fun if you're available.

The Builders are Coming, The Builders are coming...
Jim Fortier and Chet Cilley announced that they have obtained the paperwork and will be exploring setting up a Builder's Club at the middle school. A Builder's Club is the middle school equivalent of Key Club. Good work Chet and Jim! More to follow...

Snack Shack
Jim Fortier thanked those who helped him in the snack shack at the recent Laconia High School football game. They were Chet Cilley, Larry Murphy, and Kathy Calvin. The next home game is the Friday after next and then there will be the playoffs.
