Christmas Village Report:
Dick Breton complimented Phil Bonafide for his hard work at Christmas Village. He also reminded the Club that Armand and Ernie Bolduc are looking for a group to take over running the annual event. Dick noted, if Kiwanis was interested, the Club would have to work one or two years with the Bolducs to become familiar with the operation which includes construction of the Village. This possibility will be discussed at a future meeting.

News From The Members:
Joe Adrignola reported that Secretary Kathy passed on a message from Jim and Arlene Fortier who noted “Say hello to everyone for us and Happy Thanksgiving. Everything (is) great here – busy & weather (is) in (the) 80’s.”

Joe also noted this past Saturday (December 7th), he and Vi along with four Key Club members and their two advisors did the annual shopping at Market Basket for The Salvation Army food pantry. Joe noted that’s the day that All Brite Cleaning & Restoration matches every purchase that we buy. With the $200 the Key Club collected in donations (from their annual sleep out) and $500 the Kiwanis collected in donations, a total of $700 was spent in less than an hour. This included five shopping carts full of groceries, which will be matched by All Brite. Kathy made up posters, which were on the front of the shopping carts.

Joe shows the poster placed at the front of each food carts during the shopping spree.

Betty Ballantyne discussed the possibility of the Club working on decorating the Christmas tree in downtown Laconia.

Jeff Beane reported on attending a meeting with the Colebrook Kiwanis Club. He brought back a directory, which includes advertising by the town’s businesses. This publication promotes the club and is used as a fund raiser.
