Hey Kiwanis...THANKS!
We received a thank you note from the Salvation Army for our bell ringing efforts the Saturday before Christmas, December 22nd. In our 8 hours on the corner, our kettle was filled to the tune of nearly $600! Thanks again to all who helped out that day. Well done!
We also received a thank you note from the St. Vincent DePaul Society thanking us for our continued support. They received a check just before New Year's for the total NISE money we collected in 2006 and 2007 and we grateful for our contribution.

Happy Holidays!
We received a holiday card from Community Health and Hospice, wishing us the best for the season and the upcoming year.

Don't Show Up!
Do not come to One Mill Plaza next week. If you do, you will be eating alone! We will be having our meeting at The Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region. We will also see a program on the recent happenings at the club and get an update on how things are progressing with the organization. Our meeting will also be attended by Lt. Gov. Bill Smith, who will give us an update on Kiwanis at the District Level. This should be a fun an informative meeting all around, so please try and attend.

The Boys & Girls Club is located at the corner of Union Ave. and Gilford Ave. in Laconia behind Sacred Heart Church. See the pictures below for details:

After that....
The following week, January 22nd, we will meet back at One Mill Plaza and we will meet on Tuesday because of the Martin Luther King, Jr, Holiday. Make plans to join us as the guest speakers will be the current Key Club advisers at Laconia High School, Seth and Ivy Leavitt-Carlson. The couple spent a tour in South Africa working for the Peace Corps. Remember, that's a Tuesday night, January 22nd.

Thanks, Dick!
Though he was absent and not at the meeting this week, President Dianne Roberts extended a public thank you to Dick Metz for hosting the club Christmas Party at his house back on December 17th. All who attended found his place and his collection of memorabilia to be both fascinating and entertaining. Thanks for the hospitality, Dick!

Reading is Fundamental
There is a RIF reading and book distribution scheduled for Elm Street School on Wednesday, January 23rd from 1:30-2:30 in the afternoon. Please check your schedule and join us if possible. On the list so far: Joe Adrignola and Collie, Don Nelson, and Kathy Calvin.

For The Dogs!
We have a few more charity nights scheduled at the Lodge in Belmont coming up and there are still some shifts that need covering.
