Monthly Board of Directors Meeting

Venue: Laconia Fire Department - Community Room

Attendance: Six Board Members (President Bill Gile, Betty Ballantyne, Phil Bonafide, Steve Loughlin, Scott Laurent, John Walker)

REMINDER: All members are welcome to attend our Board meetings.

Meeting Summary:
President Bill conducted the Board meeting, which began with Bill noting the Treasurer's report will be delayed because Kara Stanley was sick.

Items discussed:
• Charlie Smith Scholarship Fund: Arrangements are being made to transfer the proceeds of this fund as well as future oversight to the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation.
• Lakes Region Casino Fundraiser: Phil Bonafide will contihnue to oversee this fundraiser.
• NHVNA & Hospice Donation: John Walker reported Muff is working on the press release related to our recent donation.
• Lincoln “Drive to Give” Community fundraiser – Bill will discuss specific arrangements on this Spring fundraiser with Chris Irwin
• Future Meetings: WE WILL NO LONGER MEET ON MONDAYS
Future general meetings will be held on the FOURTH TUESDAY of the month at Shang Hai Chinese restaurant.
Future Board meetings will be held on the FIRST TUESDAY of the month at the community room of the Laconia Firehouse.
• Other business included discussing: future speakers at Club meetings, joining the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, and business development

Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.

The Kiwanis Club recently received a thank you card from Belmont High School graduate, River Mathiew, who was a recipient of a Charlie Smith scholarship through the Laconia Kiwanis Club. To read the card, "click" here..

In November, the Kiwanis Club received a thank you letter for the support we gave the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation for their annual Spelling Bee. To read the letter, "click" here.

Our next general meeting is TUESDAY, January 22nd, at Shang Hai Chinese restaurant.
