The Motorcycle Road Show was in Hartford this weekend. Don and Sue Nelson, Joe and Vi Adrignola, Jim and Arlene Fortier, and Larry and Rosemarie Murphy handled the weekend and took home over $3,000! That figure is down from years past, but still significant toward the fundraiser. Well done. Up next: Wilmington, Massachusetts this coming weekend.

Thanks in advance for pitching in.Same time, not the same place.

Paul Cotton will be making a $5,000 check presentation to the Laconia Public Library on Wednesday, January 17th at 10am. This constitutes our 3rd payment to the library and leaves a balance of approx $4,000 that we will pay off later this year. Newspaper coverage has been arranged for the presentation. The Key Club is Coming...The Key Club is Coming...
Laura Brousseau informs that the Key Club is going to Florida over February vacation to help Habitat for Humanity build some homes for Gulf Coast hurricane victims. The club will speak to us for 10 minutes before the program on January 29th about their upcoming trip.50/50:
Guest Speaker Jim Steiner picked his own ticket and won $19. He said he would add it to the club's recent $250 to the Daniel Webster Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Happy Dollars:
Larry Murphy has $2.25 in Happy Dollars, covering his fine last week and the NISE dollar he never gave. The other buck was for passing the Kiwanis Credit Check last week. Dick Metz had 4 happy quarters...1 for having lunch with Eddie from The Munsters...1 for winning the best restored vehicle in the Bay Side Expo Car show....1 for winning the best in his class at the car show, too and 1 for the show being so well attended. That's 1 happy dollar from Dick Metz. In total...2 happy dollars, 1 fine, and 1 back pay NISE dollar was collected.

Russ Beane, Chet Cilley, Paul Cotton, Warren Mitchell, and Larry Murphy were all fined a quarter for being pinless. In total, $1.25 was collected.Ooops..
Showing my age (or lack thereof)....I made a joke about Cousin It following Dick Metz' story about having lunch with Eddy from the Munsters. Cousin It, of course, is from the Addams Family and if I were older than 30, I would have known that. Once again, my youthful inexperience (I call it innocence) shines brightly. So much for trying to be funny...--Joe Collie.
Let's play "spot the comb-over."

Roger Landry: "Yeah, but how much did you take in?"
Dick Metz: "I won first in my class..."
Roger Landry: "And how many were in your class...?
Guest Speaker:
Jim Steiner, Chairman of the Board, Swift Water District of the Daniel Webster Council of the Boy Scouts of America, spoke to the club and thanked us for our recent donation. Steiner said that the Swift Water District runs from Bow to Plymouth and east and West of 1-93, covering 14 towns. Steiner said that the Council has seen growth at all levels and more than 2,000 NH boys age 8-18 are involved in Scouting. Steiner gave credit to the fine quality of volunteers for this growth. He went on to say the money our club donated could be summed up in one word: opportunity. Our donation made it possible for a child to have the opportunity to experience scouting and an opportunity to learn want may not be learned elsewhere. Steiner said the 4 principles they focus on in Scouting is patriotism, character, citizenship, and duty to God. He also noted the Venturing Program, which is a co-ed scouting program for 14-20 year olds, is supported by the Teen Center. Thanks to Dianne Zawacki for that. A lawyer by trade, Steiner lives in Concord.
