The Lodge Update…
We have been to The Lodge for 7 of our 10 charity nights. At press time, an update is not available for the past week. The Lodge was closed today when we called…but last weekend we had made more than $2,200, so you can add whatever we made this past week to that. We have three nights (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) to go and we will have an update next week as to our we made out on these charity nights. Thanks to all who have helped out with getting the papers signed and the money collected.

Kiwanis KARES…
This morning at Elm Street School, there was a KARES distribution with Don Nelson, Joe Adrignola, and Brian Winslow. Also on hand were Randy Brough from the Laconia Public Library and Colleen Danforth from the Boys and Girls Club of the Lakes Region. The theme was science and the group had a good time. Books included a book about penguins and a book about turtles. The kids and the readers enjoyed ice cream as a snack.

In the penalty box…

Key Club:
Larry Murphy informs the club that the Key Club is putting together a trip to South Africa in July. Seth and Ivy Levitt Carlson are coming to give a presentation on the trip to our club next week, January 20th. Come to Tuesday’s meeting and see what the trip is all about.

Pomp and Circumstance:
Past President Dianne Roberts says that she will be attending a meeting next week of a coalition that advocates for all youth to graduate from high school. She will be representing Kiwanis and was invited to the gathering by NH Governor John Lynch. She says that she will provide the club with an update on the meeting and the coalition next week.
