Chew on this...
Ed Merski informs the club that the gumball machines at Gunstock have been taken out of lost and found, filled with gum and candy, and placed out in the open again for the public to enjoy and help Kiwanis one quarter at a time. Joe Adrignola says he got a check from the gumball people a few months ago, but nothing recently. These developments may change that. Something might come in now that the machines are filled up again.

Reading is FUNdamental
Kathy Calvin informed the club that the next RIF distribution has been set for Wednesday, March 12th from 2-3pm at Pleasant Street School in Laconia. A sign up sheet will be circulated in the coming weeks. Please check your schedule and join the fun if you are available. Thanks in advance for your help with RIF!

Laura Brusseau Update
Joe Adrignola and Kathy Calvin ran into Laura Brusseau recently. Laura is now at Inter-Lakes High School in Meredith. She used to be the Key Club advisor at Laconia High School. She is interested in coming to speak to the club and give an update on her Faith, Hope, and Love Foundation. Dates are being worked out. We will see her soon!

Fundraising
More discussion was had on fundraising. The committee is looking to a trip to Myrtle Beach OctoberFest Bike Week, October 1st through the 5th. President Dianne Roberts has exchanged e-mails with a Kiwanis Club down there willing to help us make it happen. The committee will look into available packages and pricing and report back to the club soon. Also, more nights could be possible at The Lodge, pending legislation. Stay tuned on both fronts. March 10th's guest speaker will be Jim Cande, who will be proposing a fund raising opportunity for our club at the upcoming Laconia Nationals Car Show. For more information, come to the March 10th meeting.
