News From The President:
President Jack welcomed our guests and gave a mini-sketch of what we are all about. Promotional literature was available to all guests explaining the Laconia Kiwanis Club.

Induction of our newest member:
President Jack called upon Kevin Irish, Membership Chairman, to help with the induction of Bill Gile as our newest Kiwanis member. Bill was introduced by his sponsor, Kiwanian-of-the-Year, John Walker.

Bill Gile, who was born and raised in West Virginia, went to University of Virginia where he received a Bachelor’s and Doctorate degree in metallurgy. It was while he was attending UVA that he met his future wife, Paula. Because of his metallurgy doctorate, Bill was hired by IBM where he was employed for many years until he retired about a year ago. After retiring, Bill left Vermont and settled in Laconia where he has been very active in the Mentoring Together program at the Laconia Middle School.

Welcome to the club, Bill!
