Volunteers Needed!

We are in need of volunteers for Bike Rodeo & Family Safety Day. At this point, we have Meredith Horton, Kathy Calvin, Bill Gile, Steve Loughlin, Larry Murphy & Betty Ballantyne confirmed. Also, prospective member, Rob Reid committed to helping at the event. Thanks, Rob!

If you are a member of the Kiwanis Club, a past member, or friend of Kiwanis and would care to assist us on May 16th from 10-2 at Opechee Park, please email Meredith Horton by "clicking" here.

We are also in need of volunteers to work at our concession booth during Bike Week at the Weirs Beach Boardwalk. Help is needed for covering the shifts as well as breakdown at the end of the week. A sign-up sheet will be distributed at the next meeting.

Items from Members and Guests:
Kathy Calvin – The K.A.R.E.S event at Elm Street School went very well. Kathy was joined by Meredith Horton and Larry & Rosemary Murphy. There will be two more K.A.R.E.S events; one at Woodland Heights and Pleasant Street.

Meredith Horton – Kiwanis participated in the Fusion Non Profit Fair on April 21. Unfortunately, it was not well attended, so we may not participate next year. Bill passed along to Meredith that he was able to connect with a couple other non-profits and told them about the bike rodeo.

Betty Ballantyne – Irwin Motors will be having Drive For Your School again this year at Laconia High School on May 20th. Funds raised from the event will benefit the LHS classes of 2017 / 2018.

President John Walker has been nominated for a Fusion Impact Award. The awards ceremony will take place on May 7th at Laconia Country Club. If anyone is interested in attending, see Meredith.

Laconia Rotary Club is celebrating their 90th anniversary with a celebration event on May 7th at the Beane Conference Center. If anyone is interested in attending, tickets can be purchased through Rotary or at the door on the night of the event. Please join fellow Kiwanians Kathy Calvin, Betty Ballantyne and Steve Loughlin who plan to represent our Club. For more information, "click" here.
