Election:
The annual meeting was held. A voice vote was taken to pass the ballot. The slate of officers and directors will be as follows:

President: Brian Winslow
Vice President: Dick Metz
2nd Vice President: Mike Marsh
Treasurer: Joe Adrignola
Board of Directors through 9/30/10: Denise Dow, Ed Merski, Ron Penn, and Steve Loughlin

The new board will have to appoint the secretary between now and the beginning of the Kiwanis Year, which starts October 1st.

Salvation Army Luncheon Next Week!
The annual Salvation Army civic luncheon will be held on Thursday, May 15th at the Expo Center in Lakeport. The Club has signed on as a sponsor of the event and purchased a table for 5. On the list to attend, representing Kiwanis is: Roger Landry, Howard Bacon, Joe Collie, Dick Metz, and Ed Chertok. There will also be several other club members in attendance that day, representing other organizations and their workplace. See you there!

RIF
Wednesday at Elm Street School from 1:30-2:30. There are 5 people signed up, including Joe Collie, Joe Adrignola, Kathy Calvin, Larry Murphy, and Don Nelson. Kathy Calvin reports that we could use a sixth person, if your schedule allows.

Bike Rodeo Update:
Fliers are going out to schools this week. Piche’s will be there doing the bike inspections. As of right now, 14 Kiwanians are on the list. People will be needed to fit helmets, bag prizes, fill out certificates, distribute hot dogs, etc. Setup will be at Opechee Park at
9am. Jim Fortier reports that Kathleen Yale has a group of students from the S.A.D.D. group helping out.

Mayhew Island Clean Up:
Larry Murphy says the Mayhew Clean Up is Saturday, May 17th. He said that he can use another set of hands or two for the annual clean up. He has a group of kids from the Boys and Girls Club pitching in as well.

May 14th Antique Car Show at The Nursing Home:
Dianne reminds all who own Classic Cars that they’d like all cars at the Belknap Nursing Home on Wednesday, May 14th at 5pm. It’s National Nursing Home Week and the home is having a celebration. To some of these people, those classic cars might be considered new cars!

Happy Dollars:

Joe Adrignola gave 1.
Larry Murphy gave 1 for his upcoming 50th Reunion for college.
Denise Dow gave 1 for her dog turning 1.
Charlie St. Clair gave 4 for his MC Week book being completed.
Roger Landry gave 1 for the success of the Belknap Mill event.
In all, $8 were collected.

Board Minutes:

Kathy Calvin gave the recap of the April Board Meeting…the highlights were as follows:

***The Charity Fund and the General Fund were approved.
*** $100 was donated to the NE Foundation.
*** $155 was donated to Kiwanis International
*** The Club provided a “silver” sponsorship for the LHS Band Boosters Comedy Night.
*** A $200 donation was made to support Chess with Mike at Laconia Public Library.
*** $250 was reimbursed to Joe Collie for Lt. Governor training at Hyannis May 2-4.
*** $20 was reimbursed to Joe Collie for the Division Caucus expense.
*** $175 was paid for tickets and sponsorship of the Salvation Army Luncheon on May 15th.
*** Dr. Finn was paid $146 for various dental bills.
*** Dr. Eckel was paid $66 for various dental bills.
*** Meeting adjourned at 8:05pm.


IN THE NEWS...

Several Kiwanians and many of their spouses were in attendance last Friday night at the Winni-Expo Center for the Belknap Mill's Private Collections annual event. This year's theme was a celebration of the Groovy 60's with Roger and Pam Landry co-chairing the festivities. PA

Kiwanis members in attendance included: Joe Collie, Lori Dickson, Denise Dow, Jim Fortier, Roger Landry, Steve Loughlin, Mike Marsh, Dick Metz, Warren Mitchell, Larry Murphy, Ron Penn, Carroll Stafford, and Hon. Member, Nancy Williams-Hunt.
