News That Concerns Kiwanians and Their Families

Monthly Board of Directors Meeting: All members invited to attend

Venue: Hector’s Restaurant & Lounge

Attendance: Five Board members (President Bill Gile, Immediate Past President Meredith Michaud, Betty Ballantyne, Phil Bonafide and Steve Loughlin) three regular members (Kathy Calvin, Larry Murphy and Kara Stanley) and one guest Rosemary Murphy

Treasurer's Report:
There was no report this month because our laptop crashed. Treasurer Scott Laurent is working with Scott Beane to resurrect the data for the last two years.

Committee Reports:
Gaming Income – Phil Bonafide reported that the Club grossed $12,142.44 as a result of our relationship with the Lakes Region Casino in Belmont. The net take to Kiwanis after expenses (including $5,000 in costs to the Casino and the purchase of a plaque to thank the Casino for the many successful years of partnering with them) was $7,042.05.

Phil also noted that Ryan Gloddy, the Lakes Region Casino Manager, was pleasantly surprised and appreciative with the plaque that he received from the Kiwanis Club noting that no other charities has every done this before.

Motorcycle Week – which is scheduled for June 9th through June 17th, was discussed.

President Bill reported his plans including contacting Shaw’s to request a discount on the purchase of water. John Walker will work with Steve Loughlin on posting a sign-up sheet in the bulletin. He will also recruit CVNA/Hospice folks to assist us. He may also put out list for soda and water procurement and may assign people specifics so we are covered with no duplication of inventory.

NOTE: Scroll down the page to see the schedule and sign up for Bike Week.

Roger’s Ride – Betty Ballantyne updated the membership on the 10th annual Roger’s Ride, which is scheduled for August 26th. Betty has requested volunteers to work on this event and a formal meeting to discuss details will be announced via email.
