Bike Rodeo Flyers:
Secretary Kathy Calvin informed the club that flyers have been distributed to the middle schools and the elementary schools.  Of the 1500 that were printed, about 300 remain. Club members were asked to take some flyers and help distribute over the course of the week. Kudos to Kathy and Steve on the flyers.

No Clownin' Around
It was noted that Simplicity The Clown would be at the Bike Rodeo. It was also suggested that Simplicity the Clown be the next president of the Laconia Kiwanis Club. Stay tuned…

FORE!
We have been given a foursome in the upcoming Community Health and Hospice Golf Tournament on June 5. On board for the Kiwanis team are: Chet Cilley, Jeff Stone, maybe Howard Bacon and we will need a forth player. More to follow. If anyone is interested in joining the foursome, please let Joe Collie know as soon as possible and we’ll get you in!

Lunch Anyone?
The Salvation Army luncheon is Thursday, May 18 at the Winni Expo Center in Laconia. Last year, several members of the club were in attendance. All are welcome again this year and we will also have an ad in their event flyer. Costs for the event are: $25, $10 of which is tax deductible.

RIF
Secretary Kathy Calvin re-capped last week’s RIF reading. The club’s last distribution of the year was at Elm Street. On hand were Joe Adrignola, Larry Murphy, Warren Mitchell, and Kathy. Good teamwork! A separate, but related note: The Club was invited to Woodland Height’s upcoming event: a Community Read In. You can read to the school kids if you’d like. The date is Friday, May 26 th at 2pm.

Win A Classic!
Paul Cotton and Phil “father-in-law” Bonafide will be selling tickets at the Kiwanis Bike Show in Concord on Sunday, May 21st .

Great Press!
Roger Landry noted the nice article about the arrival of the boat in the Kiwanis Children’s Room at the Laconia Public Library. The article prominently named the club and mentioned the new boat play structure at the library, which was made and donated by the Weirs Yacht Club.

Campaign 2006
A reminder that we do need to fill the spot for President in 2006-2007. While many have suggested President Joe Collie remain in the hot seat, Joe reminds you that his wife is expecting in November and the new addition will certainly take some time away from his efforts as club president. Therefore, please think of someone to nominate, or think of leading the club yourself. A personal note from Joe: thank you for the vote of confidence, but…

50/50
Once there was a banker and a lawyer. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…
Steve Loughlin (said banker) and Phil Bonafide (said lawyer) split $13.00.

Happy Dollars
Steve and Phil each gave half a buck for their winnings, totaling one full happy dollar. Phil kicked in another five because his son got married over the weekend. Phil noted that neither he nor his son knew why such a pretty girl was marrying him. Let the record show Phil’s total contribution was $5.50.
