News From The President:
President Scott notified the membership that tonight’s meeting served as the Annual Meeting of both the Kiwanis Club of Laconia and the Laconia Kiwanis Charity Fund. Annual elections were then held with the following receiving a unanimous vote:
President: Jack Batchelder
First Vice President: Steve Gorse
Second Vice President: Kevin Irish
Treasurer: Scott Laurent
Secretary: Kathy Calvin
Directors: Jeff Beane (two year term) Joe Adrignola (two year term)
News From The Members:
Steve Gorse reported on the Bike Rodeo:
45 Helmets Distributed
75 Hot Dogs consumed
$108 in donations was received

Brian Winslow presented details for the upcoming Home Run Derby.
The event is Sunday, June 2nd and starts at 11:00am
We are looking for some Kiwanis volunteers for concessions, raffle sales and working the outfield
We are also looking for participants!! Right now we have more adult participants than kids. For more information, please “click” here.

Brian Winslow also discussed fund raising efforts during Bike Week.
The Laconia Kiwanis Club will be selling water, soda and some snacks.
Parking will be available at Thurston's Marina. Please stop in to the office to secure a parking sticker and to get directions on where to park your car.
We are working with Shaw’s, Pepsi and some snack distributors to get product donated.
At this point, we need people to cover shifts at the boardwalk. Priority days include Saturday June 8, Sunday June 9, Friday June 14, Saturday June 15 and Sunday June 16.

Kathy Calvin reported on the Kiwanis K.A.R.E.S, which need additional volunteers: The following is the upcoming schedule:
June 6th at Pleasant Street school at 10:00am
June 10th at Woodland Heights at 9:45
Kathy also reported that the Kiwanis District Governor has let the club know that Brewster Academy is looking for a sponsor to create a Key Club.
Dick Breton and Steve Loughlin reported on the recent donor day of Lakes Region Scholarship. Dick reported on activity related to the Charlie Smith Scholarship and Steve reported on the Kiwanis Scholarship.
