The Motorcycle is still for sale at Meredith Harley Davidson. The asking price is $17,850 or best offer. Please remember there will be an open discussion among membership on August 6th regarding next year's raffle. We should have as many members present as possible for a full discussion and vote on the fun raiser for next year. Please try and be in attendance that week.Bike Week 2008
Lots of hub-bub over the dates for next year's event. Bike Week 2008 does not end on Father's Day next year. We have traditionally promoted our raffle as a "Father's Day drawing." Charlie St. Clair tried to clarify the dates to the club, letting us know that Bike Week always starts on the 2nd Saturday in June (next year, June 14) and Father's Day is the 3rd Sunday in June (next year, June 15). Therefore, next year's Bike Week will run from June 14-June 22 and Father's Day will be the first weekend of Bike Week. The problem lies in the fact that June 1st falls on a Sunday in 2008. This will not happen again until 2014.
Next time Charlie needs a "date"...he should try E-Harmony.

Warren Mitchell advises that there are several people headed to Berlin as part of the scheduled interclub on Tuesday, July 24th. On the list: Warren, Larry Murphy, Ed Chertok, Jim Fortier, and Jeff Stone. Dick Breton and a buddy of his will be going up on motorcycles. Expect a recap of the trip next week. Both hands on the wheel, guys!In Our Thoughts:
Waren Mitchell advises that Paul Cotton will be going in for his operation next week. As reported last week, Paul has a nickel sized kidney stone. They will blast it with a laser and flush it out. Dick Metz informed us that Lori Dickson, one of our newest members, is to have a procedure on her neck Tuesday, July 24th. Dick described the procedure as --quote-- serious. He said she should be away from the club for about 6-8 weeks. We wish both Lori and Paul the best and we will ALL be thinking about them. Stay Tuned.Manga!
Ozanam Place has scheduled a fund raising spaghetti supper for Wednesday, August 8th at Jeff Stone's place, The Stone House. Tickets are $25 and there will be a cash bar. Help support Ozanam Place by attending, and at the same time help support Jeff. The cash bar goes to him! Anyone interested in tickets can let Joe Collie know, or e-mail joecollie@gmail.comMark Your Calendar...
Dick Metz reports that the Belknap Mill will hold a free party for kids and families of military personnel on October 27th. More details will follow, but so far Annie and the Orphans are included and some Halloween activities are planned. Kiwanians are invited to attend and urged to do so as this ties in nicely with our main focus: the kids! Stay Tuned....tes were approved as presented to the general membesh50/50:
