Invocation:
Sgt. At Arms Roger Landry

Pay Up:
President Brian Winslow reminded the club that annual dues are now due at the beginning of the month.

Bills went out at our August 9th meeting - and if you didn't get one - you may have got one in the mail. If you didn't get one in the mail - don’t worry - Kathy Calvin will find you.

The Installation of Mike Marsh:
Mike Marsh is due to become Kiwanis President for 2010-2011. The Installation will be held on Monday October 4th. It will be in the large room at Pheasant Ridge Country Club and start at 6pm. Invitations will be sent out to other clubs in the division and we will see if the Lt. Governor will be available.

Making Strides:
Chet Cilley promoted the Lakes Region walk for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. There were hand-outs and posters that people were asked to take to their businesses to help spread the word about the event. The walk is scheduled for Sunday, October 17th, at Opechee Park.

New Signs:
The signs at the town lines on Rt. 3 in Belmont and at McIntyre Circle have been updated to reflect our new meeting schedule. Roger Landry had them done at Gator Signs and said we should consider using them as they provided great service. Chet Cilley planned to put the signs back up Tuesday morning.

Roger’s Ride:
The club made a commitment to donate $100 to Roger’s Ride - a motorcycle ride to raise money for cancer awareness and research that is held in memory of Roger Ballantyne - long time Kiwanis member who passed away from cancer in 2008. The ride will be held this coming Sunday, August 29th. If you would like to make a donation in honor of Roger, "click" here.

Membership:
Joe Adrignola mentioned that he had a good conversation with Laconia Police Chief, Mike Moyer, about a possible member from the PD. Also - Roger Landry said he spoke with Gilford Police Chief, John Markland, who expressed interest himself in joining. There were also other possible potential members discussed, including people that Scott Beane and Joe Adrignola have already spoken to. Other possible potential members were discussed and will be approached in the coming weeks as our membership drive continues.
