The motorcycle has been sold. Meredith Harley collected the purchase price for our 2006 Heritage Softail this afternoon (Tuesday, September 5th) and they will apply it towards the purchase price of the 2007 raffle bike. The club is due to vote on the bike raffle next week, September 11th. Please be present if at all possible.

1 for $5; 3 for $10; 8 for $20
Paul Cotton reports that the raffle tickets for next year will be a yellow and red color combination. Roger Landry has offered sponsorship of the tickets through his NAPA store as he did last year. Thanks, Roger

Sandwich Fair
Details still being worked out about a possible raffle stop at the Sandwich Fair. Paul Cotton is following up and may have more details next week. Stay tuned…

We're Invited!
The club is invited to Community Health and Hospice’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 from 5pm to 7pm in the Winnipesaukee Ballroom at the Inn at Church Landing on Route 3 in Meredith. Guests will include Dr. Susan Lynch, First Lady of New Hampshire and Donna Ciocca, NH Teacher and Author. Anyone interested in attending should let Joe Collie or Joe Adrignola know by Monday, September 11th so we can RSVP by the 12th. Refreshments and desserts will be served with a cash bar.

Hey Kiwanis….THANKS!
We received a very brief, but effective, thank you note from Owen Sanborn for being chosen as a recipient of a Kiwanis Scholarship. Nicely done, Owen…Congratulations!

Committee Assignments
The list of committee assignments was passed around at this week’s meeting and it will be again next week. If you were on a committee this year, you can either stay on that committee, or remove yourself from it. You can also add your assistance to a different committee this year. The committee members and chairpersons need to be finalized before the Installation and the start of the next Kiwanis year.

So moved…
Kathy Calvin read the minutes of the board meeting of August 7th. The board approved $1,000 towards the planning of the corpse flower event. The board also approved the charity and general fund reports for February through June 2006. A leave of absence was approved for Charlie St. Clair through October 31st, at which point he will return to undoubtedly win the 50/50 as he always seems to do. The meeting adjourned at 7:46pm. Also, the board, on August 28th, approved a donation of 20 bicycle helmets to the Laconia Police Department to distribute to kids that the see without helmets in the area.

Installation 2007
The Installation is scheduled for the “big room” at Pheasant Ridge on Monday, October 2nd. On the menu: Chicken Supreme, Seafood Newburg, Red Bliss Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans with pumpkin pie or apple pie for dessert. Appetizers to include a fruit tray and shrimp cocktail, also salad and rolls and butter will be served. Prices for members and guests will be $20.00 each, as it was last year. Also, there will be a cash bar. We hope to see you there!
