From the Members:
Steve Loughlin reported on a sincere thank you letter from Abby Teichert thanking the Club for the scholarship she received. The letter is a testament to Abby and the moral and leadership qualities she gained being a member of Key Club. To read that letter, “click” on the picture from the thank you card below:

Steve also read an explanatory letter from Meredith Village Savings Bank. The bank donated $50 to the Club as an award that Abby Tiechert won as a summer intern at the bank. Thank you Abby and MVSB!

Betty Ballantyne reported the net profit on Roger’s Ride to be $6,423. In thanking Kevin Halligan for providing all the food for the 2nd year in a row, Betty suggested we consider recognizing a community member from outside the Club on an annual basis in thanks for their support throughout the year. A pictorial summary of Roger’s Ride is included at the bottom of this page.

Kathy Calvin announced an invitation to all Club members to attend the Central NH VNA & Hospice annual meeting at Church Landing at 5 PM on September 23rd.

Betty Ballantyne introduced our guest speaker, Kara Stanley.

Kara Stanley presented a slide show and description of the Elm Street School VISTESS group’s 5-year effort to find raise and build an entirely new playground behind the School. VISTESS is an all-volunteer organization, and developed a 3-phase plan.  The project is now entering the 3rd phase and is short approximately $7,700 for swings, adaptive swings for the special education students, and final site work, to include mulching.  The playground is now open and dearly loved by the kids.

Kara Stanley receives a warm thank you for her presentation by Betty Ballantyne.
