News from the Prez...
Dick Metz gave an update on Peter Karagianis. Peter had been in the hospital with pneumonia and he is now at home. Dick also reminded the club about the event at the Belknap Mill on Friday, November 6th in honor of Peter.
President Dick took this time to hand out committee assignments and a template for the Board of Director's meeting agenda. Dick requests that if there are items to be placed on the agenda to please let him know a week ahead of time.
News from the Sec...
Secretary Kathy Calvin reports on a successful Kiwanis KARES Event which was held at Elm Street School last Thursday. Janet Brough, Terri Forstent ( both from the Laconia SAU Office) and Chet Cilley, Don and Sue Nelson and Kathy Calvin were all there to help. The next Kiwanis KARES event will be at Pleasant Street School on Thursday November 5th 11:05 – 12:05. Don and Sue Nelson and Dick Metz are our first volunteers.Kathy also took this opportunity to present Roger Landry with his 6 year perfect attendance pin.
Kathy announced that she will be selling raffle tickets for the Laconia Girls Soccer Team. For just $5.00 a ticket, you can win a $100 thanksgiving dinner food basket that will be raffled off November 14th. Kathy has tickets for anyone interested.

Sergeant at Arms Roger Landry reported, at this time there are no scheduled speakers. Roger asked club members to help get new presenters for our weekly programs.

Eight Happy Dollars were collected:
$1 from Roger Webster because his wife Pat has recovered and is now home. Since his wife is now home, Roger was asked who was the lady with him tonight at Kiwanis. Roger then noted, "there's an old saying...here's to my wives and sweethearts....may they never meet."
$5 from Grandpa Dick Metz because, last Saturday, his son Mike just had a 9lb 5oz baby girl named Madelyn Ivy Metz
$1 from Steve Gorse for winning the 50/50
$1 form Howard Bacon hoping that his wife Shirley recovers quickly (she replaced Pat in the same bed at Genesis ).

President Dick welcomed Tom Knox back to the club after a short absence.
New member Tom Knox then introduced his wife, Cathy, to the club and, as her sponsor, inducted her as our newest member.

Cathy Knox gave an update on her offer to donate proceeds of one of her Yoga classes to the Laconia Kiwanis. She will be setting up shop in downtown Laconia at One Mill Plaza and her first class is next Tuesday!
