Guest Speaker:
Joe Adrignola introduced Elaine Morrison, a retired special Education Teacher and Artist.
Elaine talked about forming a program called Veteran Art Exchange where students share artwork with military hospitals like Walter Reed.
Elaine also spoke about how war has influenced her life. Her father was in the army, her uncle was a veteran, she had lost classmates in the Vietnam War, and her son Brendan, son-in-law, John and nephew, Jonathan, have recently or are currently serving.
Elaine then gave us a tour of the artwork on display, explaining to the club the different techniques and the story behind each piece. For more information on Elaine and her artwork, check out a recent article in Laconia's Citizen by "clicking" here.
Elaine points out one of her artistic work, which is called "Doc." It is a collage which was made out of
a tourniquet and gauze from her son-in-law, John's, medical kit.

Kathy Calvin teamed up with the Laconia Key Club last Saturday to participate in the Salvation Army's annual Turkey Plunge at Weirs Beach. Most teams wore costumes, this team wore mustaches. Although it was a very nice day, the water temperature at the time of the plunge was reported to be a refreshing 48 degrees. Kathy Calvin: Our Hero Diving for dollars Done!
