Many kids made friends with Santa and many gifts were handed out. Santa put many smiles on the faces of the little ones. The kids and families enjoyed the traditional mac and cheese with hot dogs, followed by an ice cream buffet. Remembering Polly...
A good show of support given to Senior Member Ed Chertok at this weekend's memorial for Polly Chertok. Among Kiwanians in attendance (and I may have missed some) Roger Webster, Howard Bacon, Carroll Stafford, Joe Adrignola, Kathy Calvin, Joe Collie, Steve Loughlin, Dana Scott Beane, Russ Beane, Dianne Roberts, Hon. Mem. Dick Breton, and more. Apologies from the writer if your name was not included.
Quotes from Polly's memorial service:
"I'm going to talk about myself a lot because Polly and I were one..." -- Ed Chertok
"When I set eyes on the dark haired freshman with the sparkle in her eye, in September of 1936, I was the luckiest man in the world..." -- Ed Chertok on Polly
"She always loved attending meetings of the Kiwanis Club. She thrived on that contact." --David Osman, Ed and Polly's son-in-lawKIWANIS IN THE NEWS....
